Gallery & Gift Shop

The focal point of the Gallery & Gift Shop is Pinecroft’s own unique earthenware and stoneware pottery. Showcased as well are carefully chosen gift items to suit every customer. Highlights over the past years have been Dornbusch lamp shades of real leaves and flowers, Quebec woodcarvings and Paul Brunelle’s wildlife in clay.The Gallery & Gift Shop supplies a mosaic of unique Canadian made souvenirs and handcrafts reflecting the culture and character of Elgin County, Ontario and Canada. Currently available are limited edition prints, framed and unframed and notecards by well known local Canadian artist Mary Rose Sanderson. Pinecroft images are central to many of her works offered for sale. “Gifts” from Pinecroft grace homes from Holland to Japan!

The Green Frog Tearoom

The tearoom began in 1978 as a celebration of 30 years in business for Pinecroft. Its namesake is a large frog carved from stone some 125 years ago, now green with moss and age. The green frog resides peacefully beside the tumble way. In earlier times, in St. Thomas, it was used as a stand for mounting horses and entering carriages. It is now the caretaker of our pond.

The tearoom began by serving tea, muffins and homemade bread. Now home cooked country lunches are specialties of the tearoom. Fresh baked bread and rolls, soups, salads, sandwiches and luncheon features with croissants, crepes and patty shells fill the menu. Throughout the year various evening meals are presented at Thanksgiving and Christmas or by special appointment.
